FIRST SATELLITE
Aryabhatta was the first Indian satellite to be launched on april 19, 1975. From the USSR cosmodrome at Baikonur. It was launched the soviet intercosmos rocket and weighed 360 kg. It was followed by the bhaskara – 1, a 444 kg. Experimental earth observation satellite launched on June 7, 1979. These satellites were used till March 1981.
